Hey all,
Sorry to ask such a personal question but i could use some info here. StateFarm is charging me 120 bucks a month, seems pretty damn steep.
It's full coverage of course with the req'd state minimums, I have a perfect record, no wrecks, speeding anything wrong. I have been with SF for 15+ years and have almost every discount available. I am over 40 years old, married. My kids are too young to drive.....
Do i need to shop around for a better company or is my premium close to what you'all are paying? Do i need to call them "Rapefarm"? (jk)
Thanks a heep
Johnboy

Johnboy,
I think this is a good idea, gives all of us a better idea of where we should like, like the thread about what we paid for the trucks. All this info makes us better shoppers:)
I am going to have to go through my stuff to see what the truck is, but my total payment with Liberty Mutual is $180. Thats me in my '04 LE KC 4X4, my wife in her '99 Miata and I also have an '87 Buick T Type on. I am 25 and so is my wife and we have to tickets, etc...
So I am going to assume my truck is less then $120 a month.
Ron

Mine is $168 per month. For an '04 Titan and an '01 Isuzu Rodeo. I'm 33 years old. I have 4 speeding tickets and my wife has 2.
I went through progessive to get my insurance. www.progressive.com

I just renewed my policy with State Farm and the Titan will run me
about $250 every 6 months. I have all my vehicles and homeowner's
policies under SF so I get the multi line discounts.
No tickets, 38 years old and the wife has no tickets, 35 years old.

Johnboy that does seem kindof steep. I use State Farm, I'm 29 and my wife is 25 and I'm not paying but $140.00 a month for my truck and an 02 maxima combined.
I don't think that the LE CC and the 4x4 should make that damn much difference on insurance prices. But it is getting close to X-mas so you may be buying your agents kid a bycycle

Wow....
I also forgot to mention that my homeowners policy is through SF also.. One thing I forgot to mention that could affect our rates is where we live and the traffic. I l;ive in Tacoma which is pretty crowded and lots of freeways and highways.
Thanks all so much for the feedback so far! Seems in a general concensus that i may be paying too much. I will call my agent today to inquire.
Will let you all know what they say. Thanks again
John

There are soo many factors considered in figuring an auto insurance quote (ie...geographic location, miles driven daily, buy/rent home, credit rating, deductables/limits, etc), I dont know how much value there would be in comparing your rates to others. For instance..I pay $103/mth ...mid 30's, single, no tickets, 1 not at fault accident.....comparing to some of the above that seems a little high, others a little low...but I shopped around, so I know I got the best deal I could...
I had Progressive but they increased my rates after the accident...my Rodeo was parked when someone hit it...They said they would not increase my rates for that one thing, but when it came up for renewal 6 mths later they had raised my premium 18%. Their rep told me it was an across the board increase..I asked her if she meant that Progressive had increased everyone in the state of MS by 18%, she refused to answer me...I told them that much of an increase was unacceptable. I have my home owners thru AllState and they send me auto insurance things all the time so I decided to give them a shot ..thinking that the multi discount might save me some $...They didnt even come close even with the discount. I use Amica..I had never heard of them, but I did some research..they been around a long time and has given me very friendly customer service so far....GL

Johnboy,
Since you added that you live in Tacoma, I wanted to add that I live in Atlanta, GA.

For living in South Florida, $105 per month is "reasonable" for my incredible LE King Cab. It is well worth the $
