We will be relocating to ND in the next few months and I am looking seriously at a 2004 SE 4x4 with offroad package.  I'm wondering what experience people have had with their trucks with 4 wheel drive engaged (high) in snow/ice/wet pavement.  Specifically, do you find that the extremely peppy engine is a disadvantage even with 4 wheel drive?  Any significant problems starting from a full stop? Do you feel like you have adequate grip?  Any problems with extremely cold weather?

Would love to hear from people driving in winter conditions.

Thanks,

Eric

Wonder if he is gonna repost at all?

Sorry for not replying.

I actually ended up with a radiant silver 2005 SE CC, bought it about a month ago.  Unfortunately, it is at the dealer for a cracked steering rack.  Not sure how/why it happened, but it resulted in difficulty turning the wheel accompanied by a loud grating/whirring sound.

Before running into problems, however, I had the new beast up in CO for some skiing.  Drives like a charm in both 4x2 and 4x4, even in snowy conditions.  Love it.
