LOL cant disagree with that point! Buy a junker 4 banger for gas milage and commute with that, and have the Titan for fun, towing, all the good things in life!

I agree that the Titan eats gas, but really, what do expect.  If you drive a beast, you have to feed the beast.  I traded my 98 Silverado because I was beginning to pump money into it. At 36K the waterpump and alternator went out.  At 47k the transmission began slipping.  I went to a nissan dealership, saw the Titan and traded the Silverado.  I must admit, I was skiddish but I am glad I did.

Never touched a thing on the my last 3 Chevy's, usually trade around 80'000 or so, personally had exceptionally good luck, goes to show everything can have problems, stated yesterday that the rear differential was making noise, well today the rear-end let loose and left me stranded along side the road, dealer took the cover off and well she's a mess, thinking they may also have to replace the housing too, told me to expect at least a 3 to 4 week wait since so many are back ordered, will be taking the OLD CHEVY with 85,000 miles on to Florida and Arizona since the GREAT TITAN IS NOT UP TO THE JOB @ HAND!!!!!!!!!

If you want good mileage  don't buy a truck or SUV! I diesel truck only gets 20mpg tops.

Ok, maybe we need to make this simple:

BIG trucks use alot of gas, regardless of the make and model.

Not everyone has had all the problems with their new Titan (like me) but I understand the inconviences, that's why there's a warranty.

When it comes down to the end, I believe that Nissan and Toyota (and maybe Honda if they sell any of their ugly mistake) will have their trucks on the road with 200,000+ miles and will still be going. Domestic trucks are built well, but they are built to fail (especially 98 Chevy Silverado) at a certain point, hence repeat customers. The big 3 imports are built to last, period.

I had a '98 Silverado Z-71 that had to have all 8 fuel injectors replaced at 65K miles.  I did the work myself but still spend about $1200.  After that, things just kept coming.....Cats, O2 sensors, Gages....

I really think the 98 Chevy had a lot of bugs in it's system. My dad's 98 Chevy has gone through a total restoration practically: new transmission, new fuel pump, new rear end, and more I can't remember. But my point was being that a domestic might last long enough until you can afford something else, but our "imports" (actually manufactured in Canton, I believe) will last a long, long long time.
