I guess it all just depends on your perspective. I have "traded up" over the years; I started out with a '78 Celica..it could have ridden like a chuck wagon and I wouldn't have noticed nor cared. I was 16 and I had my own wheels..woohoo. Then I got a brand new Toyota pick-up, and it was a big improvement. Went from that to a Pontiac Gran Prix, another improvement in ride quality, as it was longer and heavier. Got myself into a bit of trouble with the Gran Prix and had to take a step back when I started driving my dad's old Comanche P/U. So when I bought my new S-10, even it rode great compared to the Comanche. From there I got my first SUV...I loved my Rodeo, I thought it rode great, but even it pales in comparison to my Titan. It is the best ride I have ever owned. My mom OTOH is used to the big heavy "car-like" ride of her Sequoia, and she thinks my Titan "rides good..for a truck"...lol

I agree the Ford rides better. And has far fewer rattles too!!! You listening Nissan??

The ride does soften up a bit with some weight in the back. Or towing it seems to be a bit nicer.

All in all, what I'd have expected. 'Cept for the rattles.

Not sure I quite understand some on here talking about rattles. My TITAN is as tight as a drum. And to say that a FORD is quietier, WOW, thats saying something!!!!!

I'm speaking of numerous dash rattles, at least one door rattle, the forementioned many post ago bed shake (which I feel is more tire related) and the simple fact that everytime it goes over a drainage ditch here something is rattling.

All this at about 8500m.

The Ford was traded in with 65k on it and was near rattle free. Which was really saying something considering the work towing that truck did with numerous trips to CO up and down Pikes Peak and other very bumpy roads as a pre run vehicle.

Don't mis understand; I like the Titan but Build Quality is not job one. At least on my truck.

I test drove a KC,CC Off Road - no off road and none of them rode anything like what I ended up getting. They were stiff to the point of being unconfortable. The CC w/o off road was the worst which didn't make any sense to me.

When delivered my truck was stiff too.

Check one thing ... Tire pressure! I had over 50PSI in all 4! I backed them down to 35 and it was a completely different truck. I don't know why Nissan pumps then up so high , maybe for shipping so they don't move around so much.

If you're that concerned about the ride then test drive them again but check the pressure before you do.

It seems to me that the off-road package gives you a little less "roll" when you go around curves.  It is a little stiffer than the non off road, it just depends on what you like.  I like a stiffer suspension that bounces less.  We traded a '01 Escape XLT for the Titan, and the Titan is 100 times better.  The escape would bounce all over the place and bottom out when I went over a RR track by my house, ouch!  In the Titan I can hardly tell I am going over it.

I guess I just got a solid built machine. No rattles over bumps unless it's the change in the console. I haven't owned a smoother riding vehicle. But it is a truck, no some overpriced SUV that wouldn't be used for any offroad purpose, much less a drive down a dirt road. Guess I just got really lucky with mine.

Good idea...I drove around in mine for a month before I checked the air pressure...They had 45 lbs in each of my tires ?!?!?
