thaimonkee, I have the exact same problem.  I believe it is caused by the salt in the percipitation and is just an issue living next to the ocean...  I use tire cleaner to get the white off... until the next rain.

We just had a years supply of rain in one week and I was at the hardware store and a gentleman was checking out my truck. I was showing him my truck and we dropped the tail gate and I was shocked and embarassed at the amount of white buildup on my bedliner.

Has anyone else tried to remove the substance? Did the tire cleaner work? Tire cleaner or wheel cleaner?

Could it be leaching out of the coating?

Is the white stuff in the photos on top of the liner or is the liner material itself discolored?

Good luck with the bedliner situation, thaimonkee.

And to you jimb....I know you're still following this.  I read all the posts that you submitted and was a bit amused to discover that although you were quick to note a simple misspelling by thaimonkee, you are no literary giant yourself.

In the post submitted on 15 Jan. you mention "warranites".  Just what are "warranites", jimb?

On 16 Jan. at 1353hrs you use the word "effect" when even an average 5th grader knows that the word affect is what should have been used.

The very next day, in the very same post where you admonish thai for the spelling error "repray"vs.respray , you write "in here vice speaking" and "vice posting crapola".  Tell us what that odd use of the word "vice" is supposed to mean, will you please, jimb?

I also noticed that you chastised thaimonkee for the use of the horribly offensive term jackass to address you, even though you had earlier referred to him as a "poser".  Is that a hip and happening word used by young people nowadays or something.  I think I've heard my teenage boys use that word.  Somehow I don't think they intend it to be especially complimentary, and I imagine that you didn't either.  You also suggested in your text that anyone doing those things that thaimonkee stated that he was doing must be an "idiot".  I have to say, jimb, sounds like an insult to me.  And even if it was not intended to be so, your spiteful inference that thaimonkee might be driving his parents truck certainly was done with malicious intent.  I figured out who the real child is in that entertaining exchange.

And finally, I bet the folks down at your local Nissan service department are just delighted to see you everytime your speed down there with your incessant complaining.  Nobody can screw around with a sailorboy, can they jimb?

If you search really hard, jimb, you'll probably find an error or two in this post of mine.  I don't mind if you do, though, because I already know that I'm not perfect. But then again, I don't expect others to be either.

Well, I feel a little better now.

I too have experienced similar (although not nearly as bad) discoloring with my bedliner. It first appeared after I washed it. My assumption was that it was soap residue I didn't completely rinse. But after the intense rain this past week, it's still there.

I am interested if a tire cleaner has worked to restore the black for anyone else?
