Yeah I have noticed a slamming sound coming from the rear of my truck I assume it must be the tailgate but I am unsure if this is really a problem. I have heard this on other trucks that I have owned as well as friends who have owned or own trucks. I primarily hear the slamming when going over speed bumps. But like I said I am unsure if this is just normal truck sounds.

It happens on larger bumps etc.. I've owned many GM trucks, all with hard mounts for the tailgate hinge. 8 out of 10 2005 at the dealer had the same defect. A plastic bushing that has free play allows the tail gate to "jump" when hitting large bumps, which casues load noises. I going after my dealer and Nissan for a fix. This type of NVH (noise, vibration, handling) is crap for a new truck!!!!!!
