I have a 2000 Dodge Dakota V8 and I love it!   I am also growing out of it and I have no idea what to get next.  I do love the Hemi but have not lived with it?  I have sat in the Titan but have not drove it yet?  The Titan I do believe has more room in the back seat then the Ram?  I did not measure the BED size but my dakota is 6 1/2 feet which works for me.

I don't know how to pick between the 2?  My biggest thing is the gas in my Dakota it is bad!  I know moving from a bigger truck it will take more to fill up but I am doing 40 miles aday and I have to fill my truck up every 3rd day and its all flat driving.. I would love to get a week out of it..  Can anyone help me?

I can almost go a week between fill ups. I average maybe 15-16MPG.

a friend of mine only manages 9 mpg in a 2wd 4 door hemi....i do 14 mpg in my 4x4 4 door titan.  Also if you haven't driven them both and looked at them both upclose do so..there truly is no comparison on size of the back seating area and interior

I manage about 260-280 miles to the tank and that's because i can't keep my foor off of it, but theory is if u keep it below 2000 rpm's u shouldbe able to manage above 300 miles to tha tank---i don't use mine to tow but if i did i could tow up to 9500lbs..sounds good to me...

It's not fair to say what's what without ever taking the Titan for a test drive! If you're a Dodge lover, just give the Titan a chance on the highway. No comparison. As for MPG, if your everyday trip is highway, you should have no problem getting a week of driving before fill up. I average around 20-22mpg on hwy drive, and that's usually going faster than what is posted.

So far, performance wise, I've done the Volant intake and Magnaflow exhaust. The drop in filter will do a little, but probaly not real noticable.

no i treat mine like a sport sedan ..................i've put more then the capacity in marble tile in the bed, I've had pallets of sod in my bed until it touched bottom.  Is that the proper treatment of a truck? No.  But its what I needed my truck to do and so far I haven't been let down.  As for towing I've had no problem managing the LS1 GTO on a few occasions that indeed will become more frequent as the car gets more wild

I'm the new kid on the block from the densely populated state (NOT) of South Dakota.  I've been looking at the 4X4 Titan Crew Cab LE for almost a year now and have waited until the 2006's came out (plus I'm unemployed so we haven't been able to afford one) knowing there would be more features and one more year to get the bugs out if any.   I have test drove a Titan last Spring and discovered it had the best ride of any truck I've ever driven or rode in.  The 4X4 will come in handy as will the power, the towing and the capacity to haul will be quite exceptional plus all the extra bells and whisltes on the LE Crew Cab will be super.   Regardless of the MPG I would want one, but has anyone used Mobil 1 and if so has it improved the gas mileage?   Any other ways to improve MPG besides the usual suggestions of proper air in tires, regular tuneps, steady pace with the CC.  I know as it gets broken in the MPG increases.  Any other suggestions.
