I thought you all might be intrested in this story. I was contacted last
Monday by the dealership where I bought my Titan (and where it's
always been serviced). My service advisor stated that two Nissan
engineers would like me to bring in my Titan to review, and possibly
swap it out with a brand-new Titan. They called it a "Nissan Field
Investigation", and supposedly they wanted an early production model,
loaded, with fairly high mileage to buy back. I took delivery of my
truck on 1/31/04, and it had 17,030 miles when I took it in to the
dealership. They put me in a loaner truck, and after a week of
deciding and reviewing, they have decided to buy my truck back. I am
getting a brand-new identically equipped truck, and a check for $2k
back. This is because of a current $1k rebate and the fact that they
gave me more for the "old" truck than I paid for it. I am told that my
"old" Titan will be getting on a boat and heading to Japan to be
disassembled to see what is wearing and how things are holding up.
Now the only problem is that the only truck in AZ with the options that
I wanted, is on a truck for delivery and won't be here until August
15th. So, I have to wait 2 1/2 weeks for my "new" Titan to arrive.
I'll update my signature/vehicle info on here once I actually take
delivery of my "new" Titan. Incidentally, I picked a Smoke colored
model instead of the Red Brawn, I just wanted a change.
Thanks!
I wanted to add that the dealer is also swapping over my Banks
exhaust system for me, from the "old" truck to the "new" truck.

I guess we'll see what kinda luck I have. Traditionally in this deal it
will mean that my "new" Smoke Titan will end up being a lemon, ha
ha. But, I'm hoping not!

That is really cool!
What is the cutoff date for an "old" Titan vs. a "new" Titan? I
bought mine in April '04. Is there a manufacture date that is
better to have than another?

Why have you copied and pasted this exact post from another board? This post is a hoax.
