Why have you copied and pasted this exact post from another board? This post is a hoax. |

What is the link to this other "exact post", out of curiousity?

You are correct, I did post the same info on titantalk.com. The reason
that I did this was that I just wanted to give the information to both
places. I was unaware of the other forum until after I posted here,
and saw a reference to it. So I also posted the story on there. As for
my "track record" I'm not really sure what you mean by that, and I
certainly did not and do not appreciate a forum moderator joining in
with calling my post a hoax. I am at this point sorry that I posted it
and shared anything with this forum. That in itself is quite sad.
FYI..this is not a hoax, this is the exact way that I things happened
and I just wanted to share with other Titan owners for informational
purposes. If I truly cared, I suppose I could post my new sales
contract with the buyback/trade information showing the exact dollar
amounts...but in all honestly, I don't defend myself to people that I
was only trying to share information with and that don't know me, yet
still accuse me of lying. I guess I will just enjoy my new Titan when it
arrives and no longer participate in this forum.

Well I Know this person that posted this story, and can tell you that it is not a hoax and to tell you the truth with as much hassle as was involved and how gorgeous the truck that he gave up was I am not really sure how "lucky" he is. It was not as easy as just dropping off his truck and getting a new one, this gentleman put hours of his own time over several days, into actually finding another truck that was even close to the same options as his was.
I believe in the end he will again be happy to have a Titan, but for everything he had to go through to get it... I am not sure who came out on top with this deal.
I belong to several Forum’s and I have seen a lot of negativity. But I found this rather shocking. Especially coming from a moderator... no one asked him off-list about this, heck no one even asked any questions. They just picked up stones and started throwing. I think that’s pretty sad.

Well, hopefully it is a misunderstanding. It won't benefit anyone in any way if it is a hoax.
Regardless, we like to keep a civil and mature membership on these
forums, so, in speaking for the Moderator's Group, no offense was meant
and in the future, we will handle any "concerns" offline before
proceding.
Back on topic, I would really like to hear the outcome of this "Titan
Buy Back". It makes me feel really good about my purchase if the
Engineers at Nissan are taking strides like this to ensure a quality
product.

EvilPeppard...I really don't know how much more of the outcome I'll
be able to give you. Once I agreed to allow them to purchase the
truck back, and we agreed on the price...it was basically just a matter
of me purchasing a new Titan from the same dealership using the
money given to me from the sale of my other Titan. It at this point is
nothing more than a regular purchase deal, except for the fact that the
party that I sold my first Titan to is Nissan itself. I don't anticipate
becoming privy to any more knowledge as to what Nissan actually does
with my truck...I have been told that it is going to Japan to be
dismantled for "investigation" and that's it basically.
I just hope my new Titan turns out to be at least as good of a truck as
this one was while I had it, perhaps with a few less odd little
problems.

Well, one thing is for sure. If you do have any issues with your new truck, you have your warranty to help you out. Mine is in the shop as of this evening. I posted my most recent issues here.
Good luck with your new(er) Titan

TIGHTEN,
I am sorry there has been any misunderstanding in this post regarding your participation in the Titan Buy Back program. I want to assure everyone also that this is not a hoax and what TIGHTEN is saying is true. I was talking to one of my friends who works for Nissan Hawaii and he also said there is in fact a "Buy Back" program for the early Titan's. Unfortunately most of the Titan's sold in Hawaii are not fortunate to be amoung the first stages of released Titan's. We here in Hawaii got our's a few months after they were released in the mainland. That tends to be the method of things out here in our beautiful islands, but none the less, this is an awesome thing that Nissan is doing and other automobile makers need to take note of this.
TIGHTEN could you keep us informed of any other details of the "Buy Back" program if you get access to more? Again thanks for the great info!

No problem TITAN, I will keep everyone updated as to any changes or
if I learn anything more about the program. This was the first I had
personally heard of an auto maker doing such a thing, but if they are
trying to improve on any weak spots, then I think it's a great plan.
Thanks!
