sohard4u, have you tried Amsoil 5w-30 engine oil and filter?  What I have read about Amsoil in gerneral sounds inpressive.  I use Amsoil Saber Professional in my Stihl chainsaw and all my weedwackers.  Starting is a breeze now.

Nissan just came out with a TSB changing the requirements for the oil in 2004 titans.  TSB #05008, changed it to synthetic 75w-140.

I'm in the process of arguing with the dealer about who's going to pay for changing the fluid...

Look's like Nissan addressed the problem & then some for 05. I was behind an 05 at a light. His diff. cover was alluminum with cooling fins & a sight glass. His window was down. So I pulled along side & asked where he got it. response: Came stock with the truck. Then he rolled his back window down just to rub it in.

Once again I stand accused.

Me thinks I shot my wad to soon.

Gon'a get one of those covers. It looks really good.

I have a 2004. But due to the small parts of the spider gears that came out when changing fluid, I now have a new 2005 rear end with the aluminum cover. This is after they installed the 2005 bed with the tailgate assist. All I need is for the rear window to get changed.

What does it take other than luck to get that rearend to drop it's giblits, I wonder? Just kidding. Kinda, well maybe. No just kidding.  Call it a warm up for the window swap. I'm not sure I like my dog that much though. That window's got'a cost. Then there is the time it's going to take. Makes a cover swap look like an oil change.

I replaced my diff fluid this past weekend at 37,000 miles. It was the first time I had checked it and it was about an inch below the fill plug. It took just shy of 2 1/2 qts of Mobil 75w140 to fill'er back up. The drain plug had about a 1/4 inch of 'sludge' on it and a few specks of metal. I don't know how accurate the gauge is, but it reads just slightly cooler than before....Sure would be nice if I got a mpg benefit from the $45 change. ...lol
