The stock stereo's sound (non RF) could be drastically improved by simply replacing the factory speakers...(if you've ever looked at the stock speakers you'll know why....cheap cheap cheap) ....untreated paper with "whizzer cones" not even a real tweeter.....I would recommend that you choose models with a high sensitivity (dB), unless you want to add a multi-channel amp aswell.
I'm not sure how much the RF option cost, but for $200-$400 you should be able to change out the factory speakers and make a notable difference in the sound quality....keep on rockin
