IQ9,

Hello again... well, I really like the quality of the SS Banks system, so I'll probably just change out the muffler to a cross flow instead of a straight through.

Again I want to quantify my sense of what "loud" is... for me personally it's too loud, but I'm sure thare are plenty of people out there who would revel in the sound it makes. Hell, if I was still 17 and in High School or if I hung out at the drag strip this system would sound great!

OH!!! **NOTICE!** One important thing about the Volant intake system. The HyperFlow accessory tube DOES NOT WORK if you have the factory tow hooks or skid plates, the additional intake for cool air wants to go right where the skid plate and tow hook mounts. I think they were going for the tow hook hole in the bumper for the fresh air intake. I plan to just use flex tubing to make my own... and save $100!

Hey man thanks for the info It helps me spend the money the right way. That way I only spend it once and the wife stays quite happy. My 69 Chevelle is running 3.5 inch exhaust through 2 chamber flowmaster. The headers are 2 inch primarys so do you think the Banks is close to that in noise department. My wife hates the car due to the nosie and the shake but I love the I'm going to die idle She hangs her head and waits but it never dies Its suposed to be that way

IQ9,

I doubt if the Titan with the Banks is even close to your '69 Chev'l sound wise. The stock exh manifolds would mask alot of noise for one thing.

On the Titan w/ the Banks it's one extream to the other... if you are soft footing it around town it's a nice gurgle... it's when you lay into it that it becomes loud... or headed up a hill.

I just installed the Banks Exhaust and have to agree with all the comments by CJS.  The installation was straightfoward and uneventful and the system generally sounds good but it is LOUD at certain RPM's and speeds.

I do need to get some pics up and I will try. She's covered in saw dust right now...crown molding project The Chevelle is louder than many Harleys at full song, if that helps. I like the fact that the banks can be "nice" if you need to be. Thanks for the input guys. I love this forum!!!!!!

I do believe the Banks system needs a resanator.  The sound is decent until you reach certain speeds and the transmission shifts into a higher gear, then it becomes loud and drones somewhat.  I'll be calling Banks to see if a fix is feasabile.

Bob L,

Any word from Banks? When I called them before I bought the system I talked to a sales person and he assured me that there was "no significant drone" at HWY speeds... well, I guess it depends on what you consider significant!

All this driving around by myself and finally I had a few people in the back seats and man, that droning was a pain in the rear!... so to speak. The passengers had to lean forward for good conversation...

I too will be calling Banks about this droning... like I mentioned earlier... maybe a different muffler will be the ticket?

Well, I've droned on long enough...
