I am about to re-install my stock intake box... but before I do I'm going to try to rig up a pod type Amsoil filter to replace the pleated cotton/gauze Volant filter... I just have not got arount to it yet.

If I get something rigged, I'll be sure to post it!

Drew, IQ9 is correct, 100% synthetics are compatible with any remaining regular oil. How many miles before a change? Well, since my Titan is under warranty I'll do as the manual says ... but on my '87 Nissan HardBody I was changing the oil every 7,000 to 8,000 miles. That was using an Amsoil oil filter as well, which filter extremely well.
