MPG depends on 4x4,4x2 KC,CC Big Tow or No Big Tow Is your bed covered ? I've seen people reporting in the 15's up to about 18. I've gotted as good as 17.9 but is mostly in the low to mid 16's. Highway @ 70 and some local highway roads.

NEVADA humm ! maybe going a little fast are we ????

Last trip we went on 169 miles from door to door used almost half a tank. I don't think that is out of line.

Personally I saw no difference after adding the drop-in K&N or my hard tonneau cover. I think the best way to save on fuel is to really watch the RPMs when accelerating. I try to keep them around 2K, but is hard to do thru the first 2 gears. I have been avg. 16.5 mpg HWY (75 mph) and 13.5 mpg City. Some say higher octane fuels increase their milage a bit, but I dont think the 20-30 cents more per gallon would be worth 1-2 mpg increase.

i get about 150 miles on a half tank, so that's pretty well in line with others.

I can run 300 miles in town to work and back.  That is when the gas light comes on.

Break in = terrible gas milage.  I averaged 11-12.5 mpg for a couple of tanks.  Although it could have been because it's so much fun to hit the throttle...

Increased milage with a K&N charger and tonneau cover.  At best I've gotten 17.5 mpg, 89 octane, wasn't towing anything, Labor day traffic, and didn't get much over 65 mph.  After the break in (1500 miles) I average about 400 miles per tank, 6900 miles on the truck currently.  That's a little over 14 mpg, majority city but some highway.

Seems to be a bit better now that I switched to higher octane, above 87.

I'm not saying this article is the final answer but it's interesting reading anyway.  It says the idea of the tailgate down helping with gas milage is a myth.

Glad to hear your all getting mpg figures that are acceptable.  Seen 14 city & 16.5 hwy. 10.5 towing 8000#s.  Tow something heavy. After you see what a good job it does. The mpg thing is a lot more acceptable.
