So how do you like the Titan vs. the Ford.  Only reason I am asking is because I almost bought the new 2004 Lariat but I could not get the dealer to give me a good price on nor could I get the options I was looking for.  Just curious.

The Titan is a world of difference in all aspects. THe ranger had no takeoff power and vibrated at 79mph and up. On the Ranger FX4 offroad package, the computer starts detuning the engine at 78-79mph by dropping a cylinder.  No such problem with the Titan. Still breaking it in so I haven't even experienced the potential. ;) I just the Titan!!! I wanted to get one before they were all sold and Nissan raises the prices. I think the Titan is underpriced for what you get in performance and fit and finish. (I'm not complaining though) ;)

Roadrash...

8-10 mpg is a far cry from anything I've experienced.  Are you sure your dealer didn't swap-out that mill with an F150?  My LE is still in break-in and I'm getting 16 mpg around town with consistency on COSTCO 85 Octane.  I don't drive it hard, but I don't baby it, either.  I'm satisfied with the mileage and if I ever get 17-18, like TexasTitan, I'm REALLY gonna be a happy camper.  My old trucks--3 Fords, a Dodge and a Jimmy, all of them 4X4's--were all gas hogs, with the exception of a 93 ranger that gave me about 15 mpg.  As far as the rest of them, if I could squeek 12 mpg, it was a red-letter day.  I'm totally pleased the mileage on the Titan and I've heard others state the same thing.  I think 8-10 mpg is good reason to see your dealer.

Gentlemen,

I just got my SE Crew 2wd, so I can't say much about mileage; however the gauge sure is moving fast in the three days I've had it.  My Dodge Dakota averaged about 14 with a little V6.  If the Titan can manage 16, I'll be thrilled.  I'll keep you posted as to what I'm seeing. Keep up the conversation and I'm sure we can help one another.

Gentlemen,

Well, my first tank calculated out to 12 MPG.  It was almost all city driving however, so maybe it'll do better on the highway.  I hope there's some merit to the idea of better gas mileage after the engine is "broken in".
