Guys,
The first investment I made for my Titan LE was a K&N filter. It
has inproved my gas mileage by 3-5 mpg. I used to get 14-16, Now for on
my fifth fill-up I got 19.5 on my last tank. I drive 75+. on
highway and 40% of my driving is city The filter is $44.99. They
are make a filter charger kit for $199.99. It is well worth the
investment. Courtesy Nissan had it on the web. |

Can you give us a link to the part you bought, please? Thanks.

have a 2WD crew cab with tow and offroad.

Not trying to be a smart ass, but I didn't realize you could get an offroad package with only a 2 wheel drive...

I have 1100 miles on my LE 4X4 and so far I have constantly gotten 13.5
- 14 mpg. Pretty much all city driving, a little highway once in
a while and A/C once in a while.
I just changed the oil for the first time, so I am curious to see if that affects it.
I run mid grade gas (87 octane), tire pressure at 38 psi. I don't
really hot rod it, but only cause I'm waiting to hit the 1200 mile
break in marker.
I have no mods to the truck yet.

Ok...cool...guess I'm a sh*theel for thinking only 4X4's could have "off road" packages. Here is a pic of mine.
Thanks for the reply. :)

What kind of gas mileage are you guys getting. I have the se king cab and i'd say I'm barely getting 14 mpg. |

My first recorded tank of gas averaged 14.7 mpg. This is about 30% city 70% highway.
Highway crusing around 70 mph with air cond. running. (only in Florida) windows up and tailgate down.
City driving I did more fast starts and takeoffs than I normally would, gotta love the power! Right foot tends to gain weight as I approach my Titan
The gas gauge was showing less than an 1/8 of a tank, but it took only 20.7 gallons to fill the 28 gallon tank. So looks like the guage is weighted to the safe side
Actual mileage on truck now is 1025 miles.
I think it will be safe to say that 15 mpg is a reasonable estimate.
The epa estimate of 18 highway looks a little stretched. Maybe driving 45 mph on interstate with tailgate down and air conditioning off.
04 XE KC 4x4 lower rear end ratio

I've got a 2WD SE w/the offroad package as well. But I've noticed on the Nissan buildout for the '05 that 4WD is required now. Kind of sucks! Especially since there is a possiblity that Nissan is about to buy truck back because of an elusive problem I'm having with it. If that's the case I don't want to be required to get a 4WD because I don't like the other wheels styles that much.
