I hate to add to your misery but I am getting about 12 MPH local. I have not taken my Titan SE Crew Cab on any long trips without a travel trailer so I don't know what the unencumbered highway gas milesage would be. I did get about 8 - 9 MPH towing a 24 foot, 5200 pound travel trailer.

LE 4x2 getting 17/19 since day one. Currently 2100 miles. Half of that was one highway trip. Had an F150 that only got me 15/17. Really liked the Ford but nothing comes close to my Brawn Red Beast. Only mod so far is dual Dynamax with Magnaflow tips. Straight out the back not sideways. The sound is incredible. I look forward to reading more from others. I intend more mods later (after the Christmas money crunch). I also only use the higher octane fuel. I believe that the higher the burn - the cleaner the burn.

I am very disapointed with my Truck, 2004 LE Crew Cab, have been plagued with numerous problems since we purchased the truck in late September, been back to the dealer 5 times with various problems, will be making another appointment again today, service engine light came on this weekend after driving in freezing rain (Live in Minnesota) took over 15 minutes to fill up the truck with gas, expecting them to find venting problems with the fuel tank.Gas mileage, what's that, I Have yet to get over 225 miles without the low fuel light coming on, driving 60 mph and really taking it easy managed to get the best ever 10.5 mpg!!!!!! driving back and forth to work, about 10 miles 1 way around 8 to 9. Just turned 6000 miles so I don't expect this to change dramatically even if I get to see 10,000 miles (really doubt it) The last 2 trucks I had was a 2001 Chevy with a 5.3 got over 18 on the road and my last truck was a 2003 with a 6.0 which got just slightly better than 15.5. The truck is fun to drive and has good power, handled excellent on icy roads this weekend, has more wind noise than my last 2 trucks so I will be purchasing another GM product in the very near future.

I'm sorry to hear about all your problems...sounds like you might have gotten a turd. I've been really happy with mine so far. I have just turned 6000 miles also. 8-9 mpg sounds awfully low tho..are you using overdrive, where the "D" has a circle around it? ...just cant understand why your milage would be so low....Also just curious, does your truck have the big tow, or off road pkg?

SE King with 4X4 popular, side air bag, off road & big tow packages. I have 8,000 miles on her. I drive mostly rural winding roads at 30 - 60 mph and average 14 MPG. Best was around 17 and worst was around 9 mpg doing 85MPH on I-5 for 400 miles in central Calif. I have been using Mobil 1 synthetic oil since her first oil change at 1,200 miles. I think this is pretty decent milage since I was getting only about 17mpg in my 2000 V6 Pathfinder. Hard nose the highway!

Yes I am running in OD, have the Off Road Package plus Big tow, have seen articles of trucks getting into the 400 plus range before the low fuel lights came on, did this consistently with my 5.3 but the 6.0 struggled to get to this point, MY 05 Chevy will be here the end of January!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!! This is not the only reason for getting rid of the truck, they have numerous problems with rearends also, overheating issue, dealers won't to anything until the failure hapeens, seems to me that by updating the exisiting 04'S like the 05"S with the new all aluminum diif. cover would be a lot cheaper than replacing the differential components, I will be taking an extended trip with my two Harleys this winter pulling an enclosed trailer, comes down to not trusting the truck when I'm thousands of miles from home. May consider looking at another Titan in a couple of years when they get their growing pains out of the way, the big 3 have been building full sized trucks for many years, they know what works and what doesn't work, this all new new to Nissan for now, sure they will accomplish what they set out to do, strong competition with Ford, GM, & Dodge.

I had purchased a new Titan in 2004 and when I sold it there were 30000 miles. on the average I got 13-14 MPG from the beginning. I just purchased a 2006 and so far it is not that much different.
