Ok, this may sound silly but I need to know:

New to the forum and really close to buying a nissan titan:

The tow package kind of throws me off a little bit though.

Do both the Tow package/non-tow package come with a trailer hitch?

For example, I don't necessarily *need* the tow package, but once in a while I may have to hook up a trailer or a boat.  Do I even need the tow package?

Or is the tow package a must have if I plan on towing anything in the future?  (as in, w/o the tow package you don't get a hitch)

I've seen some trucks (not necessarily the titan) that do not have a rear hitch (or at least a visible one).  I just assumed all trucks had a hitch is all.....

My truck doesn't have the tow package, and it also didn't come with a hitch. However it does have a "Tow Mode" button on the console that I believe changes the shift points while towing. I plan to add a hitch myself in the near future, I very rarely tow anything, but it would still be nice to have. I think with or without the tow pakage you won't be dissapointed with the Titan's ability to tow anything (within reason). It has power to spare. I.E. I had the bed of my truck loaded with about 900 lbs. of tile and still managed to spank my boss's new F-150.

1st tank all City 12mpg

2nd tank (all city) only 10!

I think I will get better once I remember to keep my foot out of it! But right now I'm just having too much fun.

I haven't measured mileage yet but just hit the trip odometer on the second tank of fuel.  I agree about the exhaust talking smack though...sounds really meaty!

SE King Cab...4 x 4...no off road...no big tow...avg 15 when I first got it, babied it a little....changed air filter to K & N...dropped to 14...recently changed oil to Mobil 1, have not checked it since this change...thinking about putting stock filter back in and checking it again like that

SE king cab, no tow no nothing really. But still looks better than almost anything on the road! Just added tonneau and took it for a ride of about 55-60 miles mostly freeway. On that trip it used a little less than a quarter of a tank.

2004 SE 4X4 Big Tow/Off Road with only 900 miles on it.  First 2 tanks got around 13.5, but I live 2 miles from work and it has been REAL cold.  The mileage is going to be better this time I can see already by the miles and the gas gauge postion, the weather is warmer and I've been on the highway a little more.  The Dodge Ram Quad Cab (4.7 V8) I traded usually got around 11.5 doing the same style of driving.
