Got the Big Tow, 4x4,CC.
Since I got the truck in early May, I am averageing 13.4 mpg. If I take into account the odometer correction (4.5%), it takes the number up to 14.1. Most of the highway driving I have done, maybe 2500 of 8700 total miles, was with a 5000lb or 2500lb trailer. I have not done any real highway driving yet, so have no idea what hiway mileage would be.

When I used a K&N air filter in my Ranger my mileage dropped immediately from 17.5mpg to 16.5mpg. Over the next 6000 miles it dropped down to 13mpg. I removed and cleaned the mass air flow sensor and my mileage went up to 16.5mpg but dropped again over next 6000 miles. I bought a standard air filter, tossed the K&N and cleaned my mass air flow sensor, mileage went back to 17.5mpg and has stayed their ever since. It seems the oil on the K&N filter fouls the mass air flow sensor. I've heard of this on other cars as well, the local GM dealer won't even stock K&N filters, their service guys advise customers not to use them because they've has so much trouble.
BTW: KC, 4X4, Off Road, Big Tow, 12.5mpg

Just got my truck a couple of weeks ago. So far only city driving and I get around 13mpg. It should get better with time. I have a 2005 LE 4x4 with Big Tow.

Just an update on my truck MPG. Just filled up and I got a little over 14 MPG this time, all city driving. Seems to be getting better as the engine breaks in.

I seem to be getting the same or maybe better than my 2000 F150 with the 5.4L. However, the Titan accelerates better, and rides a ton better.

05 4X4 KC XE, I only have 650 miles so far and all city/county roads, first tank averaged 12 mpg, second got 13 mpg, I have driven the big toe and XE does feel to have a little more punch, the only thing I wish mine had was power windows, it sucks to walk around and unlock the door for my wife. I expect to get 14 city-18 hwy. in the future.

O4 with tow pakage. 4200 miles. average, mostly hiway, 13.5 mpg. never got over 14.1. at 60 mph. they say it will get better. mine hasn't changed significantly since I got it. I felt real bad till a friend said his new chevy 5.3 averaged 14. Still doesn't ease the pain at the gas pump. Has anybody looked into a aftermarket overdrive ? (overdrive on top of overdrive?)
