I took my truck in today to get the brakes done and they told me that they where going to turn  the rotors and that I would get the new rotors and pads next month.  He called me about an hour later and told me that they where going to install the updated rotors and pads.  I have the updated rotors and pads installed and they even installed new pads and rotors on the rear.  Well I hope this is it.

Hey 65Shelby, I have an 04 Crew and now have 23,000 miles and 4 times Nissan has repaired the rotors. I now have the last fix that Nissan is telling everyone is going solve the problem. Too bad they don't know if it will work. Here is what I think is wrong: Nissan builds a new truck, then they test the truck, the truck has rotor problems, but they think that only a few owners will really get upset and maybe only 3 out of 10 bail out of owning the truck and ask for a buy back. The rest of us are suck with lies about how "we are working on a fix" "we know what is wrong, but it will take time to get new rotors to the dealers. Did you know that Nissan knew about the problem with the 2004 model and still released the 2005 that you have with the same problem!! If it is going to happen, it is somewhere around 5,000 miles, then 7,500 miles because they will only turn your rotors the first time. Then around 10,000 miles again you will need new rotors. It will go on and on and on. I found an attorney that is going after Nissan for this mess. If this sound like someone is just venting, maybe, but remember you and I paid over $30,000.00 for the truck we thought was the best one out only to find out we were had. I like my truck, alot. But not if I have to worry about the rotors all the time. Good luck with yours.

I had the "fix"about a month ago. My brakes started to shake a week later. The shaking stopped two days later. I called the dealer and they said it could have been a bad place on the rotor. I have lost all respect for Nissan and I will never buy another Nissan!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! As soon as I can get out of this rattle trap,I will go back to Chevolet. I thought I would never say that.

Bad brakes or not, I still think this is the better truckand company. I have delt with ford (for my dad) and their "help line" and Chevrolet's "help line" and their lawyers (lemon law). I have a long list of problems with this truck. This is the two years for Nissan with the full size trucks. I knew there would be some problems with them. Nissan is alot better about talking with me and  trying to fix the problems. Their is room for improvement and I do get fustrated. Ford and GM did not and will not go as far as Nissan. At least they acknowledge their is a problem. The other two would say "Can not duplicate problem" after 1 or 2 miles. THIS Will PI#$ you off.

Exactly, All trucks have their problems there is no perfect truck out there and this brake thing is not as bad as the problems other trucks have.  I know some of you switched from Dodge, Chevy or Ford becuase of a problem with them.

While dropping my truck off yesterday for I believe the 5th time at Gunn Nissan, I decided to go have a talk with the GM, Sonia. I explained to her my situation....that I use my truck for work touring customer in it daily and I couldn't keep having all these brake issues every other month. She called in the service manager and we had a discussion about it. They both then began to call all over texas looking for some rotors....no luck. THEN, come to find out, they had 3 of them there at their location. HELLO!??!!!?

OK, so I got them to do the whole shebang on the brakes. The GM even let me use her personal vehicle for the day while it was being repaired. It's funny how all you have to do is drop one little hint of the lemon law to the GM and magically everything gets fixed.

Now its only been 2 days, but the brakes feel wonderful now!! I used to have to push the pedal WAAYY down and it felt mushy. Now, I barely tap it and the brakes are there, like they should be. I will be soo happy if this does resolve the problem as I love this truck. I was just sick of all the BS little problems reoccurring.

So, in short, GO ***** TO YOUR DEALER'S GM!!!! It worked for me.

I have had brake problems with my titan starting at about 700 miles. They started squealing horribly so i took it in to the dealer down the street. They told me a bunch of crap about having to order the parts. So i waited 4 weeks, by then i had hit 2k miles. The dealer suggested i get my first service done at the same time. So now every month, i drop it off at the dealer for the day, they change the oil, new brakes, and a superb wash all for $21.93....its wonderful

I love my truck too, but I'm still very frustrated and don't agree that all trucks have problems.  There is no excuse for Nissan letting this go on for so long and even release the 2005 models with the same problems.

fyi....I traded in a smaller Toytota truck.  It had 80K miles on it and I had never had it back to the dealer for anything other than regular maintenance.  I'm starting to think I made a big mistake not staying with Toyota.  My brother has a Toyota truck with over 100K miles and hasn't had a single issue with his either.

Titan Crew Cab going in for its first look at the brakes tomorrow.   Started the shaking at 27K miles... Can't wait to hear what they are going to say.     I'm hoping they will do the right thing without making me go back more than once to have this fixed.    I'll let everyone know what happens.    Thanks for this post...Although it sucks that everyone has had these issues, its nice to find it documented here.
