Hi Eveyone:
My wife and I just got back from a trip up to Estes Park, CO, the first
road trip we have taken with my Titan. It revealed a few problems
I have seen discussed already on the forums.
I was going through the Tollway and stopped to pay the toll. I
hit the auto-down on the driver's window and it would not roll back up.
This has happened only one time
before and it was so subtle, I didn't even think it was a
problem. When if first happened a few months ago, I clicked the auto-up and it didn't go up,
but did the second time. I thought I just didn't hit the switch good
enough. This time it would not go up for anything. I tried it
about 20 times and it wouldn't budge, but I could hear the regulator
make some noise once in a while. I ended up pulling off the road,
turning off the truck and waiting about 30 seconds, then turned it back
on and the window went up (kinda like rebooting your computer).
Whew. It worked fine after that, for the time being.
The next problem was, when braking at highway speeds, the steering
wheel started shaking and shimmying really bad. It got worse the
harder I braked. It also seemed to be more pronounced when the
brakes were hot from use, i.e. when we got in the mountains and had to
do a lot of down-grade braking.
Anyway, I'm taking it in to the dealer for these things, as well as my subwoofer issue that I posted here.

I was talking to another Titan owner that I met in a parking lot and he's having the same exact front-end shaking you are talking about. He's taking it to the dealer sometime this week.

I just called the dealer and told them of my issues. They said
the window and the braking problem should be no problem for replacement
parts, but they are going to have to order me a replacement
subwoofer. They are not sure how long it will take to get that
in.

Took first longer trip with my new LE down to Phila for "back to school" shopping for my teenager. No problems. Cruised at 80 with no shakes, drifts or other noises. A pleasure to drive compared to my F150. Only note is that at 75-80 it tends to get "thirsty". I checked mileage on this trip and althout I did about 30 miles of city driving on this tankful I got 14.5 miles per gallon. I guess I have to slow it down a little and "enjoy the ride" LOL. Hopefully you guys are experiencing random problems which will be straightened out in time. Good Luck all.

Since they couldn't replicate the problem, does that mean they would
not address your issue? I told my dealer the window problem is
intermittent, but they still are going to take care of it.
If your dealer doesn't address your issues, even if they cannot
replicate it right then, then you may want an opinion from another
dealer. You aren't asking anything out of the ordinary, so they
should not question you, but take your word for it and start replacing
suspect parts.

Update:
Ok, got the truck back tonight. They replaced the driver side
window switch, then found that was not the problem. They said it
was actually the motor. They said I can use the window as long as
I don't use the auto-down, as that is overheating to motor temporarily
and tripping an internal breaker. They have ordered me a new
motor.
They fixed the wheel shimmy while braking by machining the rotors and replacing the brake pads, per the TSB that Nissan issued.
Lastly, they have ordered me a replacement sub-woofer.
Hopeully the replacement parts will come in soon.

Do you notice an excessive amount of brake dust on your wheels?
