Hi all. I am new to this forum and I have a question that hopefully someone can answer because the dealer most certainly COULD NOT.
My truck's tail lights are working fine, but I have no running lights on my boat trailer. They were working fine 2 days ago but now they aren't. I have brake lights and turn signals, but no running lights. I have searched everywhere for a fuse for them but can find nothing. There is nothing in the owners manual or anything labeled in the fuse box for trailer lights. I was on the phone 3 times today with the dealers service dept. One lady told me to look under the back near the wiring harness for a small black box that contained a small fuse for the trailer lights.....I never found a little black box or any fuse. When I called back and spoke with another guy, he told me it was my trailer wiring that was bad, which it most certainly IS NOT. I was testing it coming out of the truck! turn signals and brake lights, but no running lights..
Anyone have a clue??? I am racking my brain here. There has to be a fuse or burnt wire or something!
Thanks for any help!

On my LE w/tow package there is a black plastic box sitting crossways directly behind the gas tank. I saw at least one wiring harness connector attached to it. I don't know what it is or if it can be opened. Might this be what you're looking for?

OK, for anyone else that experiences this problem....found this....
Seems there is a large fuse box behind the small box that contains the relays for the trailer tow package, in this box is a 10 amp fuse labeled trailer tow.. (was blown) I did not see any reference to this box in the owners manual.. I really can't believe that the dealership did not know about this!!!

Where exactly is this box located??
I don't want to have to go through what you did to fix this problem.

OK, when you pop your hood, your battery is on the left. Directly behind your battery is a small black box that contains around 5 relays. BEHIND THAT box is a somewhat larger square black box. Inside that box are about 20 other fuses that are not mentioned anywhere in your owners manual...and they are a lot of the key fuses too! What really chaps my ass is that no one at the dealer's service dept knew of this other fuse box. What a joke! Aren't these guys trained on the newer vehicles???
Anyway, inside the lid of that second fuse box you'll see that there is a diagram with the fuses labelled. The "trailer tow" taillights fuse is the 1st 10 amp fuse on the left in the second row of fuses.
Hope that is a little more clear for you.

Copy that!!! Thanks for the info. I guess I just need to get my head under the hood and investigate some more.

did you add the hitch yourself ? had the same problem with mine after I put a hitch and 7-way plug on mine and read on another web site that you have to add a relay in one of those boxes under the hood to get the tail lights to work, all other lights will work without this relay...
