We will be relocating to ND in the next few months and I am looking seriously at a 2004 SE 4x4 with offroad package. I'm wondering what experience people have had with their trucks with 4 wheel drive engaged (high) in snow/ice/wet pavement. Specifically, do you find that the extremely peppy engine is a disadvantage even with 4 wheel drive? Any significant problems starting from a full stop? Do you feel like you have adequate grip? Any problems with extremely cold weather?
Would love to hear from people driving in winter conditions.
Thanks,
Eric

No problems in Denver! I love driving in bad weather and cannot
wait for more snow to come. My Titan drives great in bad weather
(that in conjunction with good/smart driving skills)

Thats a good question Highdesert!
In western washington we do not get allot of snow but we do get allot of rain and black ice. I also wondered how my brutus will handle with all that power right off the line. When its damp i can easily roast the back wheels! Havent run across snow yet or black ice but will be very learly and cautious when i do....

I'm in CT and the Titan drives fine in the snow. In fact, I was looking for some deep snow to play in.

I drove mine in snow for the first time this morning. It was mostly ice but I didn't have to put it in 4wd. I'm sure if I went up a steep hill I would have. I got out of the truck and about fell down, the lot was a solid sheet of ice. It drove great, the ABS works well, and I didn't loose control unless I wanted too .

I had to drive my 4x2 home last night and back to work again this morn on 2 inches of ice/snow mix (mostly ice) ...I was pleasantly surprised. Knock on wood, I didnt spin the tires once and only had the ABS kick in once...It stopped me straight...the trucker in front of me nearly got sideways. I also passed a little Ford Ranger that tried to pull out of a parking lot onto the street with a slight incline...he spun his wheels and fishtailed, but couldnt go. I had put about 200 lbs in the bed of my truck for traction, but I really think the VDC was the most helpful.

I drove my 05 in snow for the first time this week with no problems. Drive smart and be gentle on the throttle. The only problem I had was that the rear sonar would not shut off when in reverse with the slightest bit of ice on the bumper.

Drove around in some slush and ice today. Stayed in 2wd most of the time. Felt the backend slide around a bit so turned on 4 high...no problems...slow mountain driving though....

We've been blessed with plenty of the white stuff here in Wisconsin since I got my Titan. I can say that I am very impressed with the way it has handled it. I've been driving 4wd trucks since high school and usually I tell people that on the road I'd be better off in a car. That may be exaggerating a bit but my point is that with the amount usually on roads it's not a big deal. This thing is totally different. The VDC does such a good job that 4wd is not necessary most times on road. Took it off road in about 10 inches of fluffly fresh stuff this wekend and it was a blast. Did have to back out a couple times but never got stuck. I am very impressed!

Here in So Cal we just had that long weekend of intense rain. I went through a few 2' deep... puddles! I put it in 4hi just in case I needed it. Kept it slow but constent. Cronus cut through the water like a hot knife through butter. No problem with the wet stuff.
