I changed the front and rear diffs to synthetic 75W-90W (Mobile 1).  @ 4000 miles there was a fair amount of sludge piled up on the magnets in both front and rear drain plugs.  I have also changed the engine oil to Mobile 1.  Having read the warning in the owners manual NOT to use any transmission fluid other than Nissan's, I stopped by the dealer and asked.  They share the same opinion and stated that the "ash content" of the Nissan fluid is different and others, regardless of quality, will likely damage the tranny.  "Especially the Titan tranny."

Does this sound right and does anyone know FOR SURE?

I would NOT use anything but type "J" Nissan fluid - for now. As time passes I'm sure some ATF makers will gain approval. Unless you beat the heck out of the tranny you have time to wait a bit.

You may want to just bite the bullet and do a 5 qt. change at 5-6K miles just to clean out the break in crud. I recall just a simple pan dump is around 5 qts.
