On  April 24, 2005 my husband was broadsided by a speeding car that ran a red light.  My husband was traveling at approx 40-45 mph and was hit by a Honda traveling 60+ on  the passenger side spining the truck and then  rolled over 3 times landing approx 70 feet from impact point.  According to the State Troopers, Fire Dept., Paramedics, Tow Truck Driver, and Doctors, my husband should have been killed.   Instead, my husband was able to jump out of his vehicle and run over to the other vehicle and help the 16 year old driver that was pinned in his car.  If it were not for the steel rods that run through the trucks doors, the side impact air bags, and the front air bags my children would be fatherless.  Thank you Nissan for designing a truck that could really take a huge punch.  Sincerely, The Sheedy Family

Sweet Lord, have mercy! That is the worst wreck I have seen on a Titan! I wouldn't have known what kind of truck it was if you hadn't told us. I sure hope everyone is OK. Jeezs! What did the honda look like?

the other driver was a 16 year old kid and he was pinned in  his Honda Accord.  My husband a 2 eye witnesses kept him talking because all he wanted to do was sleep.  After help arrived the paramedics made Bill go sit on the curb because they was sure he had serious injuries.  We have not had any info on the kid.  I hope he is ok.  I know he was taken in the pediatric trauma room at the same hospital was husband was taken.

You can kinda see the Honda in this picture.  The front end was smashed into the passenger compartment.   I just talked to Nissan about our loss because we are financed through them.  They are telling me about a program called subsitutional collateral.  Have you ever heard of it.  The insurance for the kid is State Farm and they are accepting all resposibillity for replacing.  We bought the truck 12-28 and it has 3000 miles on it.  We put a big down payment on it to keep the payments low and I hope we don't loose that.

Very sorry to hear the loss of your truck, but very grateful to hear that the toughness of this truck saved your husband's life in what could of been a more terrible accident. I am amazed to see the damage to the truck and hear that your husband had no ill effects from the wreck. Glad you could share this story with us, and wish you best of luck in the oncoming situations and hope the teenager makes it out fine with a new outlook on life.

Glad that your husband is OK.  Nissan should be paid in full by State Farm.  Todays Comp/Collision levels are high enough to cover you guys.

Just think, you get to go pick out another new one.

Good that everyone turned out ok

Hopefully the 16 yr old learned his lesson and is counting his blessings. Saw an F350 tbone a Civic - the girl in the civic learned the ultimate lesson. Big trucks will tear you up, but good to know the Titan can take the punishment without much hurt to the occupants
