Nice bike.

I have always been a fan of Mobile 1 oil.  I used to use the oil and filter from them on my old truck but after hearing so many good things about Nissan oil filters, thats what I used for the first oil change last weekend.  What I found with it is that instead of a flat rubber gasket like all replacement filters, it actually has the same contour as the surface of the other side on the truck......so its a perfect fit.  I think I will stay with Nissan oil filters.  I still used Mobil 1 5W30 just because I have always been a fan.  I have never heard anything about Royal purple oil.  Also, make sure you go to the dealer and get the little brass crush ring that goes on the oil drain plug.  From the looks of the one that came off of mine, its not something you would want to reuse and its only $0.75 for a new one.  The oil change is pretty easy.  You do have to remove the skid plate in front to get to the oil filter but its not difficult.   Good luck.

3 free oil changes? Damn, wish my dealer had done that when I bought mine.

I hear it's a good oil for racing, but tends to break down quickly for street use. This is what I read from oil analysis. I just switched mine out with Mobil 1 Extended and it quieted down my valvetrain noise. It replaced regular Mobil 1.

i think i'm going to go with the mobil 1 as well now the more i read on the RP the more i think i'm going to the Mobil 1.  RP is a great oil but i just want to try the mobil 1.  I did the RP in my bike and i can tell a difference though
