I've got a new Titan LE.  I want satellite but I want Sirius and not XM.  There is a satellite button called SAT on the radio that can utilize this.  I want to hook up Sirius via this route but I think it was initially intended for XM.

Has anyone done this before and if so, can you tell me where to get the parts to do it?  I would much prefer an integrated version instead of using the external tuner/display.

thanks,

mike

I found out how to do this after serveral phone calls on my own.  If you call Nissan Parts and ask for the satellite kit for Sirius, they'll quote you a price.  I was quoted the following:

$700 - parts and labor

OR for parts only

$320 - receiver

$74 - Antenna

$14 - Brackets

Doing the parts separately might save you some dough on the installation if you go to a place that is used to installing satellite units.  What I don't know is where the brackets are recommended to be secured to mount the receiver unit.  It may be worth it to go to Nissan.  Buying and installing an external system is cheaper but that gets you a link through a radio station.  A direct connect to the radio would be much better quality and easy integration into your current radio.

Well, it sounds like installing the kit at Nissan may be a good idea.  I went into Nissan to talk to a service person.  They told me the brackets and the FM tuner/receiver mount under the dash behind the center of the dash.  Basically, below the radio.  They claim they have to take the pedals off to get to the area where it is to be mounted.  I'm going to do some more research.  It would save me some money if I could go to an audio store and have them install it although I'm more concerned about having it done right.
