I know what you are thinking ... this is NOT about the rotors and pads issue.  I have had that experience already and have my truck "fixed" twice and now on the list for the new set up.

This is regards to blown brake lines.  I had been parking on this extremely steep hill for a few days when one day I noticed that my parking brake and diff light never turned off.  A few weeks later, I noticed that it took a dangerous amount of space to stop my truck.  I trip to the dealer told me that I hold blown a brake line and it was repaired under warranty.

The disturbing thing is when the light first came on, I tested my four wheel drive on dry pavement to see if the rear end was out of whack, since I have heard this to be an issue with the 04's.  In 4HI, things seemed fine, but a switch over to 4LO was not so good.  The rear end shuddered almost violently upon start and stop.  When I flipped on the locking rear differential, it became even worse, throwing the truck foward a bit and lurching.

Anyone else experience this?  Comments, concerns ... ?

Cheers!

I'd haul your truck to the dealership ASAP and have them put everything you say in writing. You truck sounds like it has some issues.

Thanks for reply!  I did take it to the dealership and had the brake issue fixed.  They told me that a brake line had busted loose.  Although I can not think of why my "diff" light would come on when a brake line is loose or busted.  I will be taking it back soon.  But I have not tested the 4WD since I have gotten it back.  I imagine I will do this this afternoon.

I'll keep you posted ...

Please keep us in the loop on your issue. This might be the tip of the next icebreg for the Titans

Will do ... although nothing to report as of yet.  Everything seems to be working fine.  I have not checked the 4WD yet, simply because I have been too busy.

The plus side is that the dealer has put me on the list for the new rotors, but that will take as long as 10 - 12 weeks to get them to me ...

Cheers

Oh my god...you're killing me! Go test out the 4WD now now now now!!!! DOn't wait any lonoger! When you decide to go to the dealership (you should be on your way right now!) DO NOT TELL them that this issue presented itself a month ago. They might use that against you and say that you drove the truck in that condition and caused the damage yourself. Find the time and get it checked out or else you'll be quite sorry.Just looking out for you mate.

Thank you for the concern.  I actually took it to the dealer quite a while ago, the day after it happened, in fact.  So the brake deal is fixed, obviously.

I will keep you posted on the 4WD issue.

Cheers
