My Dealer and I have been trying to track down this problem I have been having for a week or so. Here is how it started:
- Monday night, I get into my truck, turn it on/over then try to
shift out of park and it's stuck. Yes, my foot was on the brake and the
wheel was unlocked. I couldn't get it to move at all. Then I started
noticeing that the trip counter on my dash was reset to 0, the guages
shuddered for a few seconds before straightening out, the AC wouldn't
work (blower would, compressor not). It looked to be an electrical
issue. I checked all the fuses I thought would be culprits and still no
go. I then read the maual and found out that I could use the shift lock
release and get the car out of park. Things would still work enough for
me to get around, I'd just have to use the shift lock everytime I
changed from Rev/Park/Drive and the AC wouldn't work.
- Next day, I took it into my dealer and he had me leave it all
day, as they thought it could take awhile to troubleshoot. I got a call
in the afternoon saying they fixed it and I could come get it. They
said there was a blown fuse and a loose wiring harness on the PD unit.
THey replaced the harness and the fuse and tested it numerous times and
belived it worked. After work I went down and picked up the truck. I
got in turned it over/on and what do you know, the truck couldn't shift
out of park. They said there was nothing they could do until morning,
so I drove the truck home and would bring it back the next day or the
day after.
- I brought it back in, and this time they wanted me to wait real
quick to see what the problem was. They asked if I plugged anything
extra in or did anything electrical between when it worked and didn't
that could have blown the fuse. The same fuse was blown (The one right
next to the fuse remover, a 10A that runs like 21 systems). They
replaced the fuse and gave me a bunch of extras and told me to keep
track of what I did just before it blows again. I used the truck the
rest of the day with no issues at all.
- The next morning, I went out, used the remote key unlock, hopped
in and when I turned on the truck (not over) I saw the guaged shudder
and I knew the fuse was blown. The only things electrical I did was the
keyless entry (and what it triggers like the lights), the AC was in the
on position, and then I turn on the truck. I check the fuse myself and
yup, it was blown. I replaced and everything is fine again. I took it
back in and told them, they said they were going to have to call the
Nissan Tech line to see if they had any issues similar reported.
I just wanted to see if anyone has any ideas, or has heard of something
like this in the Titan before. ANy help you can provide would be
greatly appreciated.
