ok, so ive moved probaly three or four times in the past year that ive had this truck. no complaints whatsoever, it is amazing what i can cram inside this thing and in the bed. but im moving once again next monday, from arizona to california. about 350 miles altogether. i need to try and fit a full size mattress w/ box springs and a queen size mattress with box springs in the bed of the truck. i dont think ill be able to stack them, so im thinking i can load them upright on their sides and just tie them down really well. does anyone know if this is doable, safe, legal!? any advice would be appreciated. money is tight with the move and all, and i cant afford to buy a hitch, have it installed, and then rent a trailer so this truck is my only hope.

Do you have the KC or CC? I'm wondering because, of course, the KC will give you a little more bed space....ok, no pun intended. I don't know what's legal or not on your side of the country, but all of that should fit.

Two options:

1. Stacking them, you would have to load the full size first, then the queen size on top. You would have to make sure they are extremely well tied down, to avoid wind draft from blowing the matresses off. And, of course, you would have to be able to adapt to using your side mirrors for the entire trip, and avoid driving like a bat out of hell. I've done this, but only for a trip across town.

2. If you went to stacking them on their sides, you would do the oppisite. Load queen first, full size second. I don't like this method for the fact of turing sharply can cause unecessary rubbing and tilting of your cargo, unless securly strapped down. Once again you would have to revert to using your side mirrors.

I don't know if any of this helps, but I'm just giving my input on my experiece moving with this truck.
