I saw air temp sensors for sale on ebay. Function is to make the computer think it's running at a different temp. There buy throwing more feul & air. For $20 bucks. I said what the hell? I got one on the way. They say 20 HP so it's got to be good for at least 2 right? Seems sort of saturday night special though. In fact if it drops milage too much I'll probably only plug it in on saturday nights.

no offense, but your going to threaten the life of the engine of your new car on a $20 item that effects the fuel and air mixture? 

i seriously doubt that sensor will give you anything performance wise.  if it was that easy to gain HP, nissan would have done it. 

fuel and air mixture is a delicate balance that the nissan engineers spent months of time developing on a dyno.  this item will either: 1) make you go rich, wasting fuel, lowering gas mileage, and losing HP, or 2) make you go lean past stochiometric, causing the mixture to detonate (knock), and possibly blow your engine.

wow...I wouldnt go THAT far...maybe you should do a little homework on a throttle body spacer and come back with some results then we'll compare

I agree. I desided not to install the resister for the IAT sensor. I'd like to be a littel faster. I don't want to give up any mpg.  And I don't want to risk the engine. I love the exhaust sound the way it is. Guess I'll roll with what I have. Tell us how the throttle body mod does. What i'd really go for is a way to reprogram the shift points. I'd like to drop them about 500 r's. Any clues yet?
