Well guys, I dropped in a K&N air filter last week and this week is my first week driving it back and forth to work. After I had installed my 40 series dual exhaust, I had noticed some low-end torque loss but I do believe that after installing the air filter I have gained it back and then some. I haven't noticed that much of a change in MPG but the exhaust does seem to have a throatier sound to it now. So far I am impressed at the gains I have felt. Just thought that I would post this if anyone was interested into buying a drop-in filter and wondering if there would be any gains or losses.

I had the same resultls with my drop in K&N. Not too bad just to replace the stock filter. But I eventually bit the bullet and purchased a full air intake replacement.

Did you notice a big difference in performance going from the drop in to the full replacement system?

Oh yeah. I noticed better throttle response, better mpg, more torque, and a more throaty sound.

Bought one a year ago. Got spooked off by posts about allowing larger particulate matter. Never put it in. Guess I'll give it a shot next time I come across it. Then again. If I can't remember where I put it. I probably won't remember to take it out. (next service). It's not a real good idea to leave these guys any excuse to not stand behind their work.
