I have a 04 SE crew cab with the tow package. From the day I purchased the vehicle I notice a bounce or shaking sensational. It only occurs at speeds between 40-50, and slightly around 70. I immediatly thought the truck was out of balance and took the truck back. The dealership balanced and realigned all four tires. NO change. So truck goes back. I explain what has been happening and go for a ride with the dealership mechanic. He immediatly notices the "bouncing". This time they replaced the left rear tire, telling me that the tire itself was lopsided. So now i felt all good. After leaving the truck feels very stiff and tight?? Could they have stiffened the truck up in any way?? truck now is tight and still bounces. So I left the truck for a THIRD try at the dealership. They explained that another tire was just out of balance and rebalanced. Now the truck still bounces...I clearly understand tires and the nature of balancing. But I have have had the tires balance now 4 times in 1 year. Can anyone bring any thought to the ROOT of this problem. Then I will take truck back to dealership with some better knowledge on the problem.thanks, Garrett

i had a problem similiar though my problem never went to the dealer.  You don't mention how many miles your truck has on it but my problem occured around 12-15k miles and started when the tires began to severely cup even though they were inflated properly etc.  Eventually i was able to move the fronts to the backs and the problem eventually worked itself out.  Obviously if instinct is telling you that the tires shouldn't be out of balance 4 times in a year its because you are correct.

So how many miles and which tires?

Welcome to the board btw

I have less than 500 miles on my KC and it has a slight bounce around 40mph....

Its not bad enough to complain about at this time......

I also drove 2 others when trying to make up my mind which one I wanted and they all did the same thing......

They have a stiff suspension and boxed frame.....I luv it.....

Have your front end alingment checked. Mine was out from the very beginning, The dealer kept saying it was tires. I took my truck to an independent shop, had algined. My truck was way out of alginment. After that was corrected I went to another dealer who confirmed what the independent shop did and they also gave me  anew set of tires. No more cupping or bouncing of tires.

Some dealers are nothing but ripoff artists. The dealer I purchased my truck from just got mad when I showed them the printout from the independent shop. The second dealer could not havebeen nicer and more helpful.

Good luck getting ypur truck fixed
