I'm thinking of getting a set of new tires for the TITAN this winter, and wondered if anyone had any suggestions for a good tire that falls under these categories:

1) looking for sizes to fit my stock steel wheels(XE model). 2) I want awesome off road traction. 3) generally quiet on the highway. 4) all season, allterain, good in snow and ice. 4) not prone to squealing when going around corners like the stock Duelers.

I have the stock duelers on right now and I DO NOT LIKE THEM ONE BIT! The front tires squeal when turning in an intersection with a concrete pavement at speeds as low as 5MPH. They completely suck in snow/ice/slush. My area is hilly and there are a ton of intersections/stoplights on inclines. The city here does not spread much material on the roads with snow on the surface. Only when there is ice at the intersections do they spread sand(not gravel) which helps a little, but if Im stopped at a light on an incline, and I get the green light, I have to be in 4X4. I used to have BF Goodrich All Terrain T/As on one of my other truck and they were pretty good in all areas except foe road noise. Any suggestions?

i am about to get some tires myself.  i have asked a lot of people and came up with only ONE TIRE.  many of my friends are riding these things and say that they would get them again every time.  very quiet, nice aggressive look, excellent all around tire.

the name:    NITTO TERRA GRAPPLERS-  33X12.50 are going to be perfect even with stock suspension.

Thanx Marcusfield for the suggestion. They DO look like a great tire.

Other suggestions are still welcome.

I've been looking around the net for tire comparisons and found this off of TireRack.com. Click link* http://www.tirerack.com/tires/surveyresults/surveydisplay.js p?type=ORAT

I think I'm leaning towards the Goodyear Wrangler with silent armor(second one down on the list within the link). This is helpful since each tire has testimonials from actual customers. Check it out.

you are making a mistake!!!  doesn't have that rugged look for me .  do yourself a favor and go to a truck shop and ask about these tires first.

I asked and was told they are the best tire to get. I not looking for a tire that "looks" like its aggressive, I'm looking for a tire that actually performs and is safe, reliable, quiet, and has great traction. I'm still looking around, but so far the GY Wrangler with "silent armor" is on the top of this list so far.

BTW, I was talking about the second one down from the top of the list, not the bottom, in case that's what you thought I was talking about.

I HAVE THE NITTO TERRA GRAPLERS 325/60/18'S AND THEY ARE VERY WELL DESIGNED. GREAT FOR SNOW AND ALL AROUND DRIVING.

I'm a little confused about something the people at my dealership told me. I bought the XE, hence it has 17" wheels and tires. I bought the SE 18" wheels on ebay and asked them if my odometer, etc will need to be recalibrated as I've heard. They told me as long as the rolling radius didn't change then I was ok. Doesn't the rolling radius change when you go from 17- 18" wheels? Also, I do like those Nitto Grapplers, but will they fit the stock 18" wheels?

I've got the Bridgestone Duelers A/T REVO's in the 18" size. I really like mine. IMHO I think it's one of the best all around tires that I've ever owned. $705 for a set of 4, and that included mounting, balancing, & tax. Plus I get free service for the life of the tire.

in reference to your question.  just because the rim is bigger doesnt mean that the overall size of the tire is bigger.  there will just be less space b/w the rim and the ground.  i would ask any truck shop if there is a tire that fits the 18 " rims.  im sure they have them.   i have many friends that ride these nitto terra grapplers.  they will never ride another.  JUST GET 'EM

My original tires are bald now, so I'm in the market for a new set. I read the above. Is it pretty much the NITTO's by most of us? Any more input would be appriciated.

Thanks!

PS - I've got 36K miles on these bald suckers.
