Added one more to the list yesterday. Bought the Nissan Load Warrier cargo hauler with basket. Nice package really. Only problem thus far is clearing my low garage door. It didn't. So....back to my shop and I'll have to cut it down about 1/2" to make it all work. I see some real value in this for thos who travel with tools, soft side luggage, whatever.

Update. 411 on the rack.

Got it all on and it 'looks' kinda cool too. We'll put it to use on the next race trip for sure.

BUT, a word of caution: it won't clear a 83" garage door. Yup, don't ask. Needs about another 1/2"

I took it apart (yea, I"m quallified for that) and pulled out the pads, picke up about 1/4" and then put 175 of lead ballast in the bed. Still too tall. And with 3/4 tank of gas so it's only going to get worse....

Best advise; plan ahead if you have a short door like mine. I may well cut it and reweld the basket to make it work just because I'm not wanting to take it on and off. And btw you can't really mod the rack itself as the hoops are one piece and sectioning will change the angles.

Update after some more time.

1. Height issue. Still there, if you have a low garage as I do the basket removal while not hard is a bit of a pain. And you need to store it.

2. Materials hauling. I've yet to use it as a true 'rack' for things such as pipe, lumber etc. but that's part of its intended use. I note that the U bends do NOT have a side support for loaded material. Meaning thigs could slide off.....Plumbers beware; it's a nice kit but has the need for some mods.

3. Third brake lamp. This one's a joke. They instal a new track for a wire to feed a center stop lamp on the rear U bend. Cool idea. About a 6 on the bling scale, but a 3 on the practical scale. The wire falls out when you move the U bend so you have to stuff it back in. And with only a modest amount of crap having been hauled in my bed the track assembly is bent from contact. Unplugged the wire and tied it off underrneath and will yank out said track tomorrow. Might even remove the center lamp from the U bend.  In short; nice try.

4. Track use. Like the tool box this one anchors to the cargo kit. Moving the U bend is not quite as easy as you'd be lead to think. While they do slide they take some wrestling to do so. And while I'm on the track, the floor track with the rubber cover in place traps dirt and leaves etc. Out came the rubber...

So far its probably still a decent add on. I'll know more after puttting to use late this month headed to Grand Junction. Not sure what it cost though, so check the pricing before you consider options for materials.
