Went out to my Titan after work today to go home started it up and put it into drive and it felt like it clunked into gear. I took my foot off the brake and gave it gas and it would barely move. I put it into reverse and backed up with no problem. I tried drive again with same result. I put it into park, turned it off and started looking for the roadside assistance number and decided to try it again. Well I started it put it into drive, went into gear and seemed to drive fine. Shifting from 1st to 2nd seemed to hesitate a little. Should I take it into the dealer?

Sounds like a dying tranny almost. Either that or somethings wrong with your Tranny inside.

I thought it sounded like the first gear solenoid not engaging all the way and the computer getting confused. Putting the truck back into park and turning it off the engine reseted the computer and cut power to the solenoid closing it. The engine check light did not come on so Im certain no codes were thrown.

I called the dealer and they said I could bring it in but if no codes are thrown and it drives good then they have to real insight unless it does it there. They said if it happens again bring it in for sure.

I had a similar clunk noise when shifting into gear.  This was after doing some fairly light towing.  I wouldn't wish tranny problems on anyone.  I had to give up my Titan because I lost confidence in it.
