I have never even considered adding a mod like this, nor do I have any idea if/how it works...ie. is it safe?, will it possibly save on fuel?  voids warranty? how to install? Anyone have any experience with performance chips, or any first hand experience with this one in particular??? Sounds too good to be true, at that price. I read yesterday that newer autos by law had their chips soldered on and the only way to change it was to take it off, write new code and solder it back on...so how could this connect/work?

This is a gimmick. It is simply a resistor to fool the pcm into thinking that the truck is cold. The pcm then adds fuel to the engine because of the cold condition. It will lower your already low gas mileage, improve power minimally, and YES-it will void your engine warranty.....I have owned a Performance Parts Business for 10 years, these things have been out about 3 or 4 years.
