Just got my new Titan and was wondering about the console shifter. Looks like I need to just shift straight back into drive and not pull it over to the left from that point. The dealer told me to pull it back into drive and then to the left. I read the manual and it's says that I should keep it in "drive A" for all normal forward driving. Do you agree and if so is this dealer just jacked up or what?

yeah, you should not move it to the left. that puts it into 4, and that's just gonna waste your gas because you'll never shift into 5th gear. make sure it has the D in the square on the instrument panel and you are ok.

I do love the fact that you can shift the Titan into any gear if you need it. That was a great idea on Nissan's part.

It was agreat idea, I agree but does the shifter feel a little bit notchy. I does not sound very sturdy when being shifted but I am sure they thought of us

I learned this the hard way too. I bought my truck in Omaha, and live in Sioux Falls, so about a 2.5 hour drive. Driving the new Titan home, I noticed that at 75 MPH, I was turning like 2800 RPM. I thought, "Jeez, I know they put a lower gear ratio in with the tow package, but I didn't think it would be that low! My mileage is gonna suck!". Figured out a few miles later that I had it in "4". Shifted to Drive and it dropped down to 2000 or so. Felt much better!

I like to shift all the way into "1" sometimes. When it is safe,
I then mash the gas so I can hear that healthy exhaust, then slap it
into "2".
