Im just curious.....It occurred to me that the difference in the rear end gearing may cause a significant difference in fuel efficiency. Please state which type of truck you have and the fuel milage you have been getting...thx

Big Tow, 4X4, and Off Road with standard 18" LE wheels (chrome). I average 14.5 normal driving and 15.8 when I grandpa drive (keeping it at 2grand or less). That's mixed city and hwy driving.

Big tow and a bit less than I did in my F150.
Can't say as mileage is really that big of a deal to me. I think if you buy a truck for a truck use you can plan on it getting so-so mileage. If you don't punch it off the line all the time even this axle ratio will a get decent return.

i didn't need the the tow pack, you can still tow over 6000lbs without it. I also wanted the 18s so the offroad was onlt availible with the 17s.

Mine is a 4X2 King Cab without the big tow and I am getting 14.5 on average. I just added a Truxedo bed cover, K & N Filter Charger Kit and a Magnaflow Cat-Back system. I'll post in the next few days with some up-dated numbers.

As far as fuel milege goes..who cares when you have 305 HP and lots of Torque. I never really monitor it. I guess anywhere from 300-400 miles a tank.
I knew I was buying a large V-8 on a full size truck frame, not a little Econo rice burner or even an under powered Tritan engine. Now the Hemi on the other hand, has more power behind it than the Titan and I imagine the fuel mileage is even worse than the Titan. So it is all relative.
As far as final drive ratios, Yes the Ring and Pinion gearset will influence your milage. You will either trade off power and torque for fuel mileage. A 3.07 gearset will give better mileage than a 3.73 or 4.10 rear end. The 3.73 and 4.10 will increse your RPMs quicker, you will feel much more power, torque and acceration compared to a lower street gearset, but at the expsense of fuel milage. The bottom line is that Horsepower is made from energy....energy is fueled by gas...the more horsepower you have the more gas you need.

I've got the Big Tow, Off-Road in a 4x4, I guess I need to vote 3 times! I get about 13mpg average with a peak of around 15 or 16.
