Does anyone know if the Utili-Track System with the bed extender can be installed on a Titan without it?

Here is my situation. I have an LE CC with the system. I discussed with the Snug Top dealer, before I ordered a SnugLid, if the Utili-Track System would work with the Lid and if the Lid would function with the System. He called the SnugTop factory and got the "yes" answer.

I ordered the Lid, which came in yesterday, and it was almost finished being installed and I came to pick up the truck when I was told that I was gonna lose my side tracks and bed extender...to which I totally went off the deep end and told them to take the lid and send it back. This is why I discussed it before I ordered.

Well to shorten the story a little, I either take the lid or pay a 30% restocking fee. So I guess I get rid of the Utili-Track....can it be put on a truck without it??

Thanks for any info!!

Maybe that would fly in California, in Brooklyn your dealer would be eating 30%.      Good-luck

I don't think it wouldbe able to be onstalled because of all the holes and support needed for the track system.

I was kinda figuring it was a factory installed option only. Well the Snug Lid comes off easy and the Utili-Track goes back on easy if I need it to.

Thanks for the support and laughs

I just purchased my Titan this October and went through every type of rolling tonneau cover until I found one that worked effortlessly with the Utilitrak System which came with my truck.  The system, Retrax, is made specifically for this purpose on the Titan and looks great.  Frankly I was surprised when my dealer recommended a local company who could only install their rolling cover by removing my Utilitrak equipment.  Not wanting to give up $800 in extras, I finally pinned down Retrax and found that they guaranteed the installation would not compromise the system.  It works! And I owe it to the company to let anyone who owns a Titan and wants to use a real cover to contact them directly.  Just type in "Retrax" and you'll get dealers and the Applied Products website.

I hope this info helps anyone having the same problem.  Oh, and by the way, I would tell the dealer that tried to install the Snug Top to eat it or else.  I don't care if you are in California, NY or FL,  if you order a part and it doesn't work you can't be charged for it.  That both good business and the law!!! At least in my state.  Good luck.
