Hey Guys,
Looking seriously at 05 Crew Cab LE Loaded, but have questions on Navigational System.
I noticed in photos, the screen appears to tilt. http://nissannews.com/multimedia/nissan2005/titan/800px/08_2 005_titan_crew_cab.jpg Does it open and close automaticaly or is it fixed? My wifes 04 Mazda RX-8 has Navigational System (so she doesn't get lost making her way to work!) and it opens and closes with key on if the system is activated or you can manually activate it, or tilt at a push of the button.
Also, those of you with it, is the mapping accurate and up to date?
How much are the updates?
Does the system run on DVD?
Do you find it useful? We will travel extensively in this rig!

I'll have to say that this option holds little or no value to me as a working truck owner. I'm not down on those who have it but I'd say you'd find this to be 'bling' in the eyes of most PU owners.
I'm only answering you because you asked; do you find it useful. No. Maps are much cheaper and more reliable.

No, The screen does not tilt, and it is fixed in position. It looks exactly like it does in the picture, It goes blank when the PU is off, and has a "usage agreement" that you must select "yes" that you won't be using it while driving.

Crap, didn't answer the rest of your questions!
Mapping system is accurate assuming your on a road. I can be 30-50' from my destination and "she" (its a girl voice) tells me i've arrived, but you usually get the drift. Although I was quite angry that she doesn't insult me when I intentional go the "wrong direction" other than remapping to find a new route.
Maps come on a DVD (which is located under the front passenger seat). Not sure about updating yet, I would assuming Nissan could either send something, or you would have to buy it, I haven't looked into it very much yet.
I honestly have not found it as useful as maybe OnStar, but it has its perks by labeling gas stations, etc. I usually know when I'm heading so I just like to see the "moving objects". The time to destination is quiet handy for long trips, and I've found it to be somewhat accurate.

Thanks Singularity,
That's funny that you wish for insults.
My wifes Mazda RX-8 has the female voice also, and if you go past the desired turn, it ask that you "Make A Legal U-Turn". Would be great if it yelled out like Red on That 70's show "Dumb Ass"! or something demeaning like that.
Thanks for the reply!

it is very a accurate unless the road has been built within the last 2 years. I'm guessing that nissan bought the dvds during the design. I don't if they have any updates yet. It works better in the bigger cities.

Thanks for the usefull info. Hope that the 05's come with the updated DVD's.
We travel by road almost everywhere. Towing the Offshore boat, the travel trailer, or Motorcycle trailers (cycle trips to the mountains where we trade the four wheels for two. Time for Deals Gap, Wolf Pen Gap, Hwy 356, Hwy 60, well you get the picture). Twistie roads make my day!
We try to make the pigrimage to Oshkosh, and this year we'll be pulling our 35' travel trailer with the 05 Titan. That's the most important thing for us when considering the navigational. Sure we are a Garmin GPS dealer, but integration is key in some areas of our travel. I have a street pilot color GPS, the all new GPSmap 60CS for use on the motorcycles, and various other models(GPSII+, Emap). I really dig the new GPSmap 60cs with all of the features it has(more than my wifes Mazda RX-8) and it's waterproof, also. But for automobile travel they are tiny screens with small buttons. I have to operate it, since my wife usually saws logs while we travel and couldn't find her self on a map in a one road town heading north.(She admits it, no punches taken here.)
