I continue to be very upset with the XM reception on my truck.

I have the stick antenna on it and it fades daily both in the Phoenix city area (where there is a repeater) as well as on the open road in both southern AZ and open NM.

This is just not right. I can sometimes force the stick to stay put in one spot and it then seems ok. For a while.

When taken to the dealer they report that this antenna cannot be replaced by the one on the Armada. I want a mag base unit as I've had for over two years with zero issue. Does anyone here know FOR SURE that this is really the case?

Any suggetions on what antenna to get aftermarket that WILL replace this stick?

I have had zero problems with the Nissan installed XM Radio with the "stick" antenna attached to the drivers side rear window.

I'm confused what you mean by forcing the stick to stay in the same spot? Mine will move in the 180 degrees pointing up, pointing down or anywhere in between and it stays exactly where you position it. It feels like "stepped notches" of position.

Please let me know....I love XM Radio and would be truly upset (as you are) if I had those problems. I'll see what I can find out!

I would suggest checking the connection and connectors on both the antenna and module. While I am unfamilar with the type on antenna you have, verify that the connections are tight and that the centre conductor (or pin) is not bent.

Just a suggestion!
