Ok, I've had this happen way too many times for it to be just me...

Have you been driving say down a dark road and a car (or truck) coming from the opposite direction flashes his/her brights at you thinking you've had your brights on? Of course, I flash my brights back showing them they could be much brighter!

I get it all the time. I'm stock, but I do have fog lights on most of the time. I wonder if it's worse for those with the leveling/lift kit. I think it's funny every time it happens. I've had cars on the freeway that were in front of me change lanes and get in behind me only to flash their brights at me.

Is it wrong to enjoy that?

Let 'em suffer.  They blinded me enough in my Camaro and my wife's (very old and junkie) Porsche.

I had the same problem with my 04'. Granted, if you drive up on a road hugger sub compact you'll blind them just because your lights are 2' higher - oh well!

But there is a good chance your lights are out of alignment. I was getting flashed all the time with a stock height Titan - no mods. So I decided to check the headlight aim- they turned out to be WAY TOO HIGH.

If you want to adjust ... The shop manual has a aiming diagram but I'll shorten that up for you. Find the horizontal center height of your headlight, measure from the ground up to the midpoint of your light. Mine had some small round marks in the plastic lens. My height was about 37.5 in.

If you have a level driveway and a garage door just back up 25 ft. and put a mark on the door using the ground up/ mid point measurement you took. Wait till dark

Switch on the low beams and you'll have two blobs of light below a lighted field. These lights have a distinctive horizontal cut off . The lit /unlit line should be NO HIGHER than the marks you put on the door. My lit/unlit line was a good 14" higher !

The adjustment screw is on top of the headlight housing (6MM) just turn it in/out.

There is no side to side adjustment - just up and down.

                   Dark above this line

Hey-that's some good info there.  Thanks for the effort on posting the procedures.

Rick

stitch,

Thanks for the summary, I'll check mine out to see if they're too high. That's not to say I'll fix them if they are, but I'll look into it.

I have been flashed too.  Usually it is when I am at a stop light and the cars on the opposite side of the street are waiting as well.

The only other flashing is when I see another Titan / Armada and give 'em a "flashing hello"

I think a lot of them seem to be too high. I mentioned this months ago and now it appears to be quite common.

Like the summary on the alignment too. Nice job. Now I just need to do it....but as the instructions atate; wait unitl it's dark. lol Ok.
