Background:
Will be my first truck
I live in northern NJ....most of my driving will be on-road, but i'd
like to venture off and find some trails and what not. I dont imagine
myself doing anything TOO hardcore offroad.
I was pretty set on getting the Offroad package, but i'm re-considering the more i think about it.
I will definately get the 4x4 crew cab. Just need to decide between LE
+ Big Tow or SE + Big Tow, Offroad, and Bed Utility Packages
The Rockford Fosgate system doesnt make much of a difference to me, as
i will be removing the radio and putting in my alpine equipment.

More things to consider are the heated seats in the LE. I know it doesn't get terribly cold in NJ, but I sure enjoy warming my butt in GA. The OR will probably garner more $$$ when it is time to resell and it will give you ability to switch on diff lock. Also the SE interior will probably hold up better then the LE. Availability and discounts may help you make your decision too.

i got the se 4x4 and i tell you i play in sand and mud going to all of
my favorite hunting spots. the se has 18' wheels and a descent
tire. the off road package offers bfg's but there not even allterrain
tires. so i think for the money i would just get the se 4x4. and
possible the big tow package if you have a boat or something

Leather is very nice but if you don't maintain the surface it will
wrinkle and crack. My last truck looked terrible because I was
lazy. The wrinkles all looked like dirt filled cracks. The
left side of the drivers seat had cracks from me getting in and out.
Cloth has it's disadvantages too but should never wrinkle and crack
from normal use. And I don't feel as bad putting on water proof
seat covers...

I have never saw a leather seat wrinkle and crack like you are describing. I guess the key is that you have to use a little armor-all every once in a while. I got the LE because of the seats, in the end they will wear alot better than the cloth.

I have never seen cloth seats outlast leather.

My point is, leather is not the most durable material around. I'd much
rather have a waterproof cordura seat cover than anything.
Think of leather durability this way.
Would you put a leather jacket through a washer and dryer cycle?
Drag a screw driver down the leather and then down a cloth seat which do you think will leave a mark longer?
Let a 100 lb dog with long toe nails stand on your leather seats and then on a cloth, which do you think will leave a mark?
It's all in what you use the truck for.

I agree that the seat covers would be more durable than the leather. You can replace them if you tear them up, wash them, and they can cover any stains that are on the seat. But if you have stock cloth vs. stock leather, leather will look better in the end. As for dogs and screwdrivers, I would rather have vynil like my old blazer had!

Can't you put seat covers on leather or do they only fit on cloth seats......
