I have an LE with the entertainment system, dvd/rockford fostgate with
no nav system. I wanted to add the eclipse head unit with nav/dvd. I
was wondering if I would still be able to listen to the radio, dvd, or
navigation while the children use the headrest to watch their own dvd
in the back seat. Also if the rear and steering controls would still
work. The salesman in good guys told me yes but I don't really think he
knows and just wants to make a sale.

From what I know, the independent use of the rear seat entertainment
system is impossible when replacing the stock head unit. I have the the
pioneer avic-d1 and was able to hook up the center console dvd player
to the head unit and then output to the rear monitor. This is the only
way I know to include the rear monitor.
When you pull the stock head unit the center console dvd player becomes
"dumb." There is no way to select it as a source, and therefore no
audio playback. As I am writing this I am wondering if the wireless
headsets would still function...haven't tested this possibility so I
can't really say.
