I have a 2004 Crew Cab LE.  I did not want/get the tow package nor the off road package.

That doesn't mean I still can't do some light off-roading does it?  I'm not talking MOAB, but I'm thinking of something more than just driving in the snow and ice during the winter.

Let me know your thoughts.  Thanks.

I don't see why not.  As long as it is within reason.  Hell, I had an X-terra 2WD and I played once in a while!

No extreme off roading like steep inclines or heaving towing... Just use your best judgement and knowledge before you attempt any crazy stuff and seriously damage your truck.

Dude, of course you can play in the dirt or rocks - just not too much dirt or not too big of rocks.  You definitely don't need the offroad package to go offroadin, and you don't need the tow pckg to tow (unless you tryin to tow more than 6500 lbs).  Like these other guys said, don't push it.  Obviously, your vehicle is pretty new, so you wouldn't want to risk much anyway.  Just be careful, and don't let that big Endurance V8 get away from you!  Happy wheelin my friend!

Deffinetly take it in the woods or sand....I've seen a few pics and vids of Titans doing it and turned out very well...The only real downfall that I can see (in all stock trucks not just the Titan) is that they are too low and and with the long wheel base it gives you more of a chance of centering out and getting hung up...Just watch it going over any type of a crest....

Go for it, Rancho shocks and the other goodies that come with the package will help offroading, but that doesnt mean you cant with out it, just be careful not to bottom the truck out since you dont have all the skidplates and just basically use good judgement and you will be fine.

Thanks Titan Engineer.  What skid plates would I be missing?  I just did my first oil change and was looking around underneath while I was doing it.  I had to remove that big front skid plate to get to the oil filter.  Where would the other plates be located?  Thanks. :)

When your Titan comes equipped with the Off Road Package, you get skid plates for the transfer case and fuel tank. At least, I think so.

Yeah but the skid plates that come stock really won't protect sh*t..They are thin pieces of steel or even aluminum...I wouldn't trust them as far as I could throw them... I'm sure Titan Engineer will agree...
