I am interested in purchasing a Titan, but have only heard horror stories about this truck. I have heard about he brakes failing around the 1500 mile mark, rotors warping, dealer reluctant to replace, vibration on steering column, uneven wear of tires, taligate hinges poorly manufactured, electronic loss, stereo issues...

Is all of this true?
Is this truck worth purchasing?
please advise
thanks

welcome to the forum, if your looking at an 06 titan ull be fine, all issues have been resolved on the 06 model, please keep in mind that a few kinks are bound to happen with any brand new car/truck on the market, the titan is nissans very first full size pickup... i hope this helps make your choice, i bought my 04 titan brand new off the showroom floor 3 months after they were availible, and i would do it all over again!!

i have a 4x4 off road '05 w/ 15,000 miles.  i would not trade my truck for anything.  the only problem i have ran into is a squeeking seat.  absolutely nothing else.  also, keep in mind that these forums are made of thousands of people and most often will hear the worst of all.  i think that those with problems represent a very small percentage of the actual owners.  just my opinion

have had my 04 xe for a yr now. been back 2x for brake issues. loved the truck. consider the worst thing and if you think you can live with it, then buy the truck. or you can get a ford. they have been around for more than 30yrs(?) and still they have issues. anyway you go i wish u good..

2004 SE King Cab w/ Off Road pkg and Rockford Fosgate pkg. Absolutely love my truck. Have yet to run into any major problems, (just the stinking tire sensors) and would buy one again. Hopefully down the line Nissan will kick out a 4x4 diesel. But like the others have stated, most here at the forum are probaly going to list their gripes about the truck so to compare on resolving the situation. Test drive one and you'll see why we have fallen for the Titan.

First test drive a FORD,CHEVY,DODGE and last but least TOYOTA, then drive the TITAN and you will know what a real truck dives like. Love my 05' KC 4x4 W/2 1/2" FRONT LEVELING KIT and A.R.E. lid. Good Luck!!

I have an 04 Crew cab and indeed the problems you mention can surface.  My dealer has been nothing short of fantastic at every step of the way.  The brake issue has been handled with new parts though it went back twice for it.  As for the tire wear this has been a problem for me though I am admittedly not nice to my vehicles.  That said the vehicle has done some extraordinary things in the time I've owned it.  It also as previously mentioned blew everything else away when you test drive the others.

This is just my 2nd visit to the forum.  I test drove the Titan last Spring and would like to buy an 06 soon.  I've been unemployed for awhile and might have a chance to sell Nissans if I get hired.  I'm suppossed to contact them in April.  Here's my question and it might seem like a dumb one but here goes.  What is the advantage in a Diesel?, More power?, cheaper gas?  I've wondered what the advantage is for a long time.

What is a Front Leveling Kit and A.R.E. Lid??  I'm sure they are some sort of acessories.  I've looked at lots of the acessories--the ones I like the best is the Bed Extender and Bed Divider, Under Seat Storage, Rails (or does the 06 LE Crew CAB 4X4 now come with the rails).  I see the 06 now has the outside mirrior defogger and signals on them in the LE package.

I'll try to answer some of your questions best as I can.

Diesel-more power, usually better mpg, used to be cheaper than gas.

Front level kit-if you noticed, the Titan as a slant, with the backend higher than the front. The initial purpose of this was supposed to give the truck more clearance while backing up (a hill I guess). The kit would raise the front end to match the height of the backend.

Kinda blank on the ARE lid.
