Anyone know the FRAM or Purolator equivalent for our trucks?

Or should I get the OEM filter?

Thanks,
SASILVERBULLET

For the price I'd say stick with Nissan filters....Plus when you are there you can get the crush washers used on the oil drain plugs that's supposed to be changed out at every oil change....

I have gone back and forth on this but I decided that I agree you should use the OEM filter mainly because it gives the dealer no out on a problem. They can't say you didn't use the OEM filter etc etc.  Plus for the money its not really a big deal.

I have used courtesyparts.com to fill my order for oil filters, drain plugs and washers. Their prices seem pretty decent and the people are goood to order from. Your drain plug has a copper washer that needs replacement at each oil change, I'm glad I ordered a few from them.give them a look , it might be easier than looking at two or three parts stores before you find what you need. Good luck, Ron.

I always use the Nissan filters and crush rings from the dealer for both my Titan and wife's Maxima.

I would not pick up a Fram to throw it away, but thats me. Bosch or Mobil filters will work. I've used Bosch on my wifes Max since the first oil change (now have 106k). I bought a Mobil ONe filter for twice the price and it looks to be the same as the Bosch. Same metal face with the same hole and "Y" stamped on it. Same spring setup. Only diff I could see is the anti drain back rubber was a different color.

The price for the Bosch is about the same as the Nissan.  Have not compared a Bosch to the Nissan filter  yet.  So if dealer is close, I would probably use the Nissan filter.

Have never replaced a cruch washer on the oil drain plug. Maybe I'll start.
