I have looked at the overhead rack, and I am not sure it is tall enough to put a 16 foot canoe on it with the front of the canoe over the roof area.   I have looked into getting a Yakima tower system, but the Nissan Titan is not one of the vehicles that you can get their system for.  Has anyone solved this problem, and  if so, how?

I have a LE Crew Cab for your information.

I purchased the Yakima 6 inch artificial rain gutters
and bolted them thru my roof after dropping the
headliner. I already had a set of Q-Towers and this
works great on the roof since I can take the rack off
when not carrying the canoe. For the rear support I
have a 2 inch reciever and just ordered the swivel "T"
bar from Cabella's. Again it's easy to put in the
reciever when you need it and leave it home when you
don't. You hardly notice the rain gutters.
Good Luck

The idea of the rain gutters makes sense. I guess  I am hesitant about bolting something thru the roof.  Can you explain in more detail what has to be done to do this.  I am very familiar with the Yakima system as I have the Q-Towers on my Honda Accord, and that is how I have previously carried my canoe.  I think the combinatioin of the Q-Towers and the Overhead rack would prove to be very effective.

Thanks!
