Try to do what I did. I simply told them I was not interested in the DVD system and that it was a deal breaker. I wanted the sunroof, or at least I didn't mind paying for that but the DVD was not something I was interested in.
After a bit of discussion and their realization that I was ready to walk out, I got the $1,450 taken off the top of the price of the truck AND I still got the DVD system.
I am married with no kids and no plans to ever have any so the DVD system is never going to be used. Once the dealer understood I was serious, they made that offer.
Try it, it cannot hurt.
They also told me that they thought it was stupid of Nissan to require that in a pickup truck. They had no issue with it in an SUV, but a pickup is not a child hauler, it is a work vehicle. I think Nissan will reevaluate the option packages in the future as they have to be getting a lot of complaints on this specific issue.
